Introduction

This portfolio is intended to showcase my accomplishments while completing my degree coursework towards a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) while attending the University of Colorado College of Nursing and the Colorado College of Public Health.

The ultimate goal of the DNP program is to achieve understanding and establish practical applications for each of the eight DNP essentials as defined by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN, 2016). These essentials describe the fundamental elements that must be within every DNP program. The DNP essentials support the creative development and implementation of programs and quality improvement projects.

Within the sections of this portfolio, I will provide a concise narrative academic and occupational biography, a curriculum vitae detailing my past experience and accolades, and a detailed description of how I achieved each of the eight DNP essentials along with exemplars of my work.
