The Full Story
Evan Kohoutek, BSN, RN
Evan’s professional journey began with a United States Army enlistment in 2003 to become a licensed practical nurse. Evan obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boise State University in 2012 and returned to the U.S. Army to serve as a Registered Nurse. Evan transitioned to a public health role in 2015 and currently serves as an Army Public Health Nurse.
In 2021, Evan will be graduating with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and a Master of Public Health from the University of Colorado College of Nursing and the Colorado School of Public Health.
Evan coordinated with the 460th Medical Group on Buckley Air Force Base and Aurora Public Schools to conduct his quality improvement project, “Addressing Social Determinants of Health Needs in Military Families.” The project focused on identifying military families with social determinants of health needs while also connecting these families with appropriate resources.
Evan’s passion is employing programs and processes to promote positive health outcomes in service members and their families. After he retires from military service, Evan intends to use his education and experience to develop future generations of public health and nursing leaders by teaching at the collegiate level.
